  3. MacTCP was a product from Apple Computer, Inc. that allowed Macintosh software use the TCP/IP protocols.  MacTCP is one of three pieces of network software that Fetch can use to communicate with FTP servers; the others are OpenTransport and KSP (see the OpenTransport help topic).  Fetch tries to use OpenTransport, then MacTCP, and then Dartmouth╒s own KSP protocol and a special network gateway.  Once a network connection has been made, a message in the About Fetch... dialog box indicates whether OpenTransport, MacTCP or KSP is currently being used.
